Attendance
The Washington Elementary attendance system has changed this school year. Parents and guardians can submit electronic attendance notes for full-day absences, tardies, and early dismissals through Dashboard by following THESE instructions.
The Dashboard attendance system is the only place where electronic notes can be submitted. Dashboard is available via the MTLSD website or PowerSchool app.
Parents/Guardians may write paper notes to provide to homeroom teachers or the office if they desire. Emails sent to homeroom teachers or the office will receive a message directing families to submit excuses using Dashboard or to write a paper note. Emailed excuses will not be accepted and will be marked as UNEXCUSED.
Pre Approved absences will still need to be submitted using this form.
You can send the form in with your student or email it to afroelich@mtlsd.net.
A few other important notes:
- The form in Dashboard will allow families to upload medical notes with their excuse to verify the absence, early dismissal, or tardy as medical. Directions for how to sign up to enable this feature are HERE.
- The Washington Elementary attendance email will be phased out. Please do not submit excuses there as they will not be accepted.
- If you need to reset your login information, please contact Amy Froelich in the office at 412.344.2142
Please complete this form if you are planning a trip or other pre-arranged educational absence. The Pre-Approved Absence form must be submitted a week in advance of the scheduled absence. You may email the completed form to Mrs. Froelich at afroelich@mtlsd.net and your child’s homeroom teacher or submit the hardcopy to the front office.
Written Permission for Lunch Dismissal
Please email the Washington Elementary office and your child’s homeroom teacher with your child’s name and the date(s) you are permitting them leave the building for lunch. Please also indicate if they are permitted to walk or if they will be picked up at the front door.
